Future studies/plans

Future studies will attempt to evaluate different sediments and nutrient levels.  Mangroves will be placed on timer systems to mimic natural light cycles.  Additional studies will include creating a mangrove forest in our wet lab to evaluate mangrove growth on a large scale. Finally, different species (worms, amphipods) will be used as indicators of increasing mangrove growth and restoration.

Are Fiddler Crabs a Keystone Species In Local Mangrove Forests?

After analyzing the results, the data proved that the mangroves that were in mud with the fiddler crabs grew the most. Based off of the results,  a substantial amount of the fiddler crabs and mangroves died. This may be because instead of using a certain amount of water or light I just put an amount I thought would be ok.
